I want to be alone.

In the interest of over sharing, as bloggers do, I’d like to paint you a picture of how much time I get alone.  In fact as I type two children are hanging off my elbows.

A moment ago I went to the loo, all I needed was a mere two minutes alone.  I had hardly begun to warm the seat when I was joined by three children and the dog.   All wanting something from me, or had brought me something to open or do for them.  Business concluded I left the toilet three children & dog in tow, and one bottle of cordial, two sippy cups, two dvds and a bag of cookies under my arms.  I swear these kids have absolutely no boundaries.  I now know why my mother would call out from the loo when she was in there; “I’m in here!” if she heard the slightest bump in the house (or the house next door even), a kind of veiled ‘piss off kid’ I’m sure.

One day I will miss all this right?

A year in the G

We’ve been in Goulburn just about a year, where did the time go?  I still have around ten boxes left to unpack, and I know I know if I haven’t needed to unpack them then maybe I didn’t need them. Well I think I have probably replaced everything that I haven’t found yet, so yeah maybe I did need to unpack them.  Anyways…  What a big year we’ve had.  It still feels like we’ve only just got here, there are still places in this town I have visited yet.

The kids have settled in beautifully, and as we had hoped, our autistic children have shown great improvement since being here.  It has been great being so close to everything, yet still living in a country town.  I have to say I’m fast becoming a fan of Canberra too.

Anyhow, I have a couple of things I’d like to share with you.  First is some photo albums I’ve been iphone-ographing up a storm around Goulburn this year, you can view them here and here.  And second I’d like to express gratitude, to those who have helped me (and my family) along the way this year – you know who you are, we couldn’t have made it without your enormous support (virtual and IRL) - thanks again. xx

So bring on the new year!  Let’s hope things keep going on the up and up!

Ho Ho Ho & stuff…

What kind of a blogger would I be, if I didn’t put up the standard moody emo Christmas post?  It would be so very easy for me to head down that path, so very easy indeed.  I mean come on, look at the shit I’ve got going on every day.

However today I have nothing to complain about, Santa arrived and bombed the place with toys (OMG we have enough stuff to open a toy store!) and as luck would have the kids all slept in.

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

My Nanna Hands & Busby Pure Tissue Oil – Updated with winners!

I inherited my grandma’s hands, not the hands she started with but the hands she finished with.  I have terribly old-looking hands, my dad used to say to me as a teenager that I had his ma’s hands with their thin papery skin.  My hands have always been a disappointment to me.  Even on my wedding day, you know that traditional shot the photographer does of your hand over the husbands so you can see the rings?  In our shot the photographer suggested it may be better if hubbies hand covered mine.  Yeah I certainly have nanna hands.

I’ve spend a fortune over the years on potions, and I think I’ve tried them all.  However last month the lovely people at FGB Natural Products (the people behind Bosito’s Tea Tree products) sent me their newest product to try Busby Pure Tissue Oil.  So I thought what the heck, it’s worth a shot.

I decided I’d try to be a little more thorough in this review, and conducted my own before and after test.  This means I’m going to scare you all with pictures of my nanna hands, and hey this freaks me out as much as it will you I assure you.

So, for a month I’ve been using Busby Pure Tissue Oil on my nanna hands, and before I get to the result let me show the before…  Yeah I know, not pretty.  There it is, that is my hand a month ago.

So what is it?  Busby Pure Tissue Oil is made from avocado, grape seed and rose hip oils (it smells lovely) it is a face and body oil that is formulated to reduce the appearance of scars and stretch marks within 28 days.  It has five times more vitamin e than other leading brands of tissue oils, plus vitamins A and C.  It doesn’t contain paraffin or petrochemicals, just natural oils.  Sounds good.

What surprised me about this oil was it is not greasy, ok it is when you first put it on, but a minute later it’s absorbed and the change to the appearance of your skin is immediate.  I like that.  A little goes a long way too, I’ve had to share this 100ml bottle with the spouse and I still have a third left after a month.  The spouse has seen a difference in his skin, especially his psoriasis spots.  And it is only $18 a bottle, compare that to a well known brand we all know and there is a saving to be had.

Now a month later, with almost applying it everyday…

There is a noticable difference.  I have to tell you I wasn’t expecting that, but the back of my hand where the skin is the most nanna like is definately smoother.  It’s going to take a LOT more to get rid of the nanna spots, but its a start!  If I injure my hands they take ages to heal and almost always scar (as you can well see), there has been improvement in that department as well.   So there you go, I’ll be buying it again and I’ve shared my secret shame of nanna hands with the world.  It must be good.

FGB Natural Products have kindly offered to send four of my readers their own bottle of Busby Pure Tissue Oil to try.  To be in my (random) draw for a bottle all I want you to do is like their page on facebook, bonus entry in the draw for liking mine and pop back here to comment letting me know.  Easy.    I will draw on New Years Day, or the day after depending on how awake I am ;)

And the winners are…

Amanda Mackie, 1littlebird, Mick and Peta – check your emails guys!

Thanks everyone for taking the time to comment and enter :)
