Those of you who follow my blog will know, I don’t often do cooking posts. The reason for this is mostly because showing off my cooking skills is not really blog worthy, my cooking never ever comes out looking like the picture. Rarely will you see something I post being swooned over on Pinterest, I think you know what I’m talking about. Pictures of cakes with half the icing eaten off by small children before it even gets to the table, is probably all I’m capable of.
So this is unusual territory I find myself in, I’m going to post about cooking. The Donna Hay Flourless chocolate truffle cake. It says on the box “the most indulgent chocolate cake you’ll ever eat”, and I have to agree. At first I was a bit wary, as soon as you see the label flour less, memories of not so pleasant tasting gluten free diets come floating back.
All I needed was lots of butter and eggs (the recipe says it is indulgent), and a non stick spring form cake pan. Wow this cake was good, and I baked it!
You can find Donna Hay home baking mixes at most supermarkets for around $7.99 RRP (yes a little pricey, but wait till you taste them!). The range contains no artificial colours or flavours and no preservatives. They are quick to prepare, making them great to keep in the pantry as a last minute dessert. We are big fans of Donna Hay home baking mixes in this house, the Molten Chocolate Brownies are a crowd favourite.
