I love it when a plan comes together.

As some of you may be aware we recently moved from one end of the state to the other, all in an effort to get better services and opportunities for our children.  Not to rag on what the beautiful town of Inverell had, but it was stuff all – the lovely people running what services that are there try their very best with what they’ve got, but if you haven’t got the funds, equipment or staffing you can only do so much.  The location was very limiting for us, our kids needed way more early intervention – before it got too late.  I was racking up the miles on my bus I can tell you!   I’ve said before, rural towns need better funding.  But I digress, back to Goulburn…

I have big news.  Georgie, our Autistic four-year old daughter, started at ‘big school’ full time this week.  Isn’t that great.  She is starting school a year earlier than we thought possible, and all due to having a school near us that has the facilities to do so. Awesome.  She is so ready for school, and I am so happy about.  She has her big brother Tom in the classroom next door, and she seems to love it.  You wouldn’t believe the sense of relief I have for Georgie.  I’ve never been so happy to see a home reader in a school bag.  Sounds lame I know, but its simple ‘normal’ things like that, that don’t often happen in my household.  Hopefully in six months time we’ll get Henry into the same school, but for now he is doing early intervention – he hadn’t even started that back in Inverell but was able to start here straight away. Fan-smegging-tastic.   I do love it when a plan comes together. 😉
